Orlando, FL-Environmental Turf, Inc., was named Turf & Ornamental Company of the Year at the 2007 BoardRoom “Excellence in Achievement” Awards announced January 31st during the Golf Industry Show in Orlando.
The Golf Channel’s Jim Kelly, who served as Master of Ceremonies at the event, presented the award to Environmental Turf’s President Stacie Zinn.
“We are very honored to receive this prestigious award,” said Zinn. “2007 was the year that everything came together for Environmental Turf and our premium golf turf, SeaDwarf Seashore Paspalum. The grasses’ success this year was also a success for the golf industry. Private clubs and golf facilities in warm-season climates using the grass were increasingly recognized as environmental stewards, providing sustainable green spaces for the good of the game and for the world.”
BoardRoom magazine is the official publication of the Association of Private Clubs & Directors. BoardRoom’s “Excellence in Achievement” awards recognize both vendors and educators for their impact, achievements and contributions to the private club industry. All award entries are reviewed by an independent panel of industry experts representing various aspects of golf course and club operations. Winners are selected for overall excellence in their respective fields, innovation, vision for future growth and continued impact on private club operations.
More than 300 entries were submitted for the awards in 2007. In 2006, Bayer Environmental Science won the award in the Turf & Ornamental category.
